wasl marks ‘Zayed Humanitarian Day’ with a range of initiatives

wasl Asset Management Group, one of the largest real estate development and management companies in Dubai, has launched a range of charitable and humanitarian initiatives to commemorate ‘Zayed Humanitarian Day’, which is celebrated annually on the 19th day of Ramadan and fell on the 14th June this year.

The company has expanded its charitable activities to ensure that they reach the highest number of beneficiaries, in line with the objectives of the UAE’s ‘Year of Giving 2017’ and to uphold the charitable spirit of the holy month, while also reflecting the giving nature of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who planted this value in the hearts of everyone in the UAE.

The initiatives organised by wasl aimed to honour the noble qualities of the late founder of the UAE, and the good that he spread across the world by giving to the needy and alleviating the suffering of the sick, poor and homeless. His leadership and values are cornerstones of the UAE’s culture, which embraces giving as a vital aspect of the community. ‘Zayed Humanitarian Day’ is a tribute to humanity, generosity and compassion in the name of the father of the nation, and sees companies across the UAE launching charitable initiatives to positively impact different segments of society.

wasl cooperated with the Rewaq Ousha Cultural Center to sponsor the Ramadan Merit Campaign 2017, which benefited a large number of families, as well as a treatment initiative from Beit Al Khair Association to help poor patients cover health care costs. During the holy month, wasl has also organised daily iftars at wasl Oasis 2, Samari Residences and the Qusais area, which are being attended by around 550 people on a daily basis, and a blood donation campaign at Samari Residences in cooperation with the Dubai Blood Donation Center. To round off its charitable initiatives, wasl sent 16 employees and their families to perform Umrah during Ramadan.

The commemoration by institutions, companies and the general public is a reminder of the late Sheikh Zayed and his noble ways, which helps to keep goodwill and giving in the hearts of all. Due to the wide participation and high turnout of the wasl family, the company has been successful in launching various initiatives for humanitarian activities to spread this goodwill across the Emirate.
