[Dubai, UAE, July 04, 2015] – Wasl has announced the results of the first week of its Ramadan Arts Competition for Wasl tenants, with two lucky winners awarded a great prize each as a reward for their creative skills. The annual activity from the company is currently open to adults and children, meaning that all generations of Wasl tenants have the chance to showcase their artistic skills and win big throughout the duration of the holy month.
The winner of the first instalment of Wasl’s Ramadan Children’s Painting Competition is Fatima Suraj, a 9-year old living in Samari Residences who scooped a brand new iPad for her efforts. The adult tenant collecting the prize for the first week of the company’s Ramadan Instagram Competition is Niranjan Gopinath, who walked away with a state-of-the art Apple TV. Both recipients were awarded their wins based on votes from the public and a judging panel who judged the competition submissions after they had been uploaded to the Wasl website.
Wasl’ Ramadan Arts Competition encourages children up to 13 years-of-age to paint and draw what they see around them, with the contestants uploading their entries to the competition’s website. The submissions are then voted on by visitors to the site, with one winner each week receiving a weekly prize. At the end of the holy month, one winner out of the four from the course of the competition will be awarded a grand cash prize tuition scholarship to use towards their school fees.
Wasl tenants over the age of 13 years are being invited to participate in the Ramadan Instagram Photography Competition by capturing their interpretation of the true meaning of the holy month in digital format. The entrants then upload their images onto the popular social media photo sharing site Instagram. Each entrant is able to upload an unlimited number of photos using #waslRamadan2015 and mentioning @waslgroup. The best entries as judged by members of a judging panel receive a valuable gift, with a total of four gifts available to win over the course of the competition.
